Hmmmm.......... if you want to pay off your ticket in hard labor, John, I'll think about it! We have 8 acres of fast-growing weeds and trees that need removing....... ;-) Small, light weight and user-friendly is good. I have a hard enough time just seeing all the little tiny icons, let alone figuring out what they all mean and how to use them. I want something I can just pull out of my pocket and get a nice detailed close-up, like Stephania's pics! My current is a Canon PowerShot A75, 3.2MP. All it's making now are wavy blobs that look like the aurora borealis. The first time it did that it was still under warrantee, but they still had to send it off to the Mainland and I didn't get it back for a couple of months. At this point I'd rather just get a new one.

Lisa and Kathy, Most years I have dozens of swallowtails all over the garden, but this is an "off" year in our part of the country. I have seen a few lately, but no cats yet. Usually in August we have a couple of dozen cats in the garden. Aren't they the prettiest cats? When I was a kid and a young adult, we called them "parsley worms" and we did kill them, but that was before I understood that they were the larvae of the black swallowtail. And the butterflies, of course, are gorgeous too! Since I am seeing butterflies now, cats should soon appear on my parsley. Jessaka, You know that I love tomatoes and grow tons of them every year, but even I don't kill hornworms! I'm not saying you shouldn't kill them if they are a problem for you, but just want you to realize what you are giving up if you kill them. The tomato hornworms turn into beautiful, large moths, commonly referred to as hummingbird moths or hawk moths or sphinx moths. We love the moths, and put up with having hornworms on the plants just because we want the moths around. There are other related moths, but we most often see either the manduca (tomato hornworm) moths or the clearwing hummingbird moths. For what it is worth, I haven't lost but one tomato to a hornworm this year as they seem more scarce than usual. With 140 tomato plants AND all the pepper, eggplant and potato plants, you'd think I'd have hornworms all over, but I don't. I also plant a lot of night-blooming flowers like daturas, four o'clocks and moonflowers to attract them. Even in a good year, with all the tomato plants we have here, I only see minimal damage from hornworms. Yes, they can strip a tomato plant pretty fast, but my stripped plants always regrow pretty quickly and I don't mind losing an occasional tomato to a future moth. You can't beat katieob's kitchen from 2009, I didn't even try. Now I get it , you have 42" to start with, ok. My cabinet maker would be willing to talk with yours, if you want. He is Sheri of Picasso Design out of Dundee Oregon, hes a real master. He does alot of wineries beautiful woodwork , hes crazy busy but he would be flattered. If anyone is in Portland, he is an absolute gem.
