Good for Bodiggly...definitely a flicker, Nova. Aren't they cool? Flickers are Florida's only brown woodpecker, and are often seen foraging on the ground, and indulging in a behavior called "anting." (They will pick up ants and rub them over their feathers. Some think it has to do with the formic acid ants release when they bite. Me, I just think it's funny to watch.) I tried to find the link to my post identifying each of Florida's woodpeckers, but apparently that is no longer in the archives. Wow! I bought a plant like this this past summer. As a novice grower I've been disappointed in my skill with this plant. It has shrivelled, though the roots seem fine. Sure would like help on figuring out how to get any blooms out of it. (leaves would be good too!)

mekales, Looks like a black-capped chickadee (one of my favorite birds). I enjoy listening to them too. Their name is based on the chickadee sound they make, and I like hearing their "fee-bay" territory sound, probably because I like the bird so much. Hi everyone! Wow! A lot of people got their seeds today! The post office must have been working over the New Years weekend! I'm glad you are all liking the seeds I sent. Gmom, I had a lot of extras ready before I started this swap so everyone got more seeds back than they sent it. It was just something that I wanted to do as so many people have been so generous to me over the last year on GardenWeb. It was a good way for me to give back.
