DOVES - when can I remove nest??

I've done lots of reading, but haven't found an answer. I'm in the process of taking down two large leyland cypresses. Was disheartened to find a baby dove had fallen and I couldn't see the nest so I could return the baby to it. Have now found it, one hatchling remains. My question is how soon after fledge can I remove the nest so the parents don't reuse the nest. Do the fledglings return for awhile?

Despite the fact I'm working on the other tree, the parents are continuing to sit on the nest. I hope to observe them feeding.

I'll really appreciate your help.

When nestlings fledge they don't return to the nest. You can removed the nest after all nestlings leave.

Renee, many thanks for prompt reply. I'm not as bird savvy as you folks so want to make sure I understand. Does fledging mean taking flight out of the nest, as in first time, and not returning?

Hope you see this or that someone else replies. I got another good look at the baby a while ago, bright black eyes watching me!

Hey Karyn, some nice plants. Is that Aloe the same one you sent me? WOW! they get big fast!!!!! Anyway, to your question.... Some of the Aloe pups look large enough to have some roots and could be broken off. The Gasteria look on the small side to me but I don't grow this anymore.... I got this a few weeks ago at a local nursery. They had easily a dozen of them with lots of pups just hanging all over the place, so I helped myself. I know this was very bad of me! The jury is still out as to whether they will root up.

Baldfaced Hornet. I wouldn't advise that anyone try to remove a nest themself; the risk for an attack is great unless you know exactly what you're doing. On the other hand, it might not pose a risk at all, depending on if the nest is located away from activity or not. Do some Googling to read about these insects so that you can make an informed and safe decision.

Just remove the nest. The female will most likely not come back and reuse the same nest since it failed.

With growing plants, patience is most definitely a virtue. Those are actually leaflets. The whole entire structure that these leaflets come from is the actual leaf itself. You can start a whole new plant from using the compound leaf, but you can also root a whole new plant from just the individual leaflets. Although, this takes much longer. That's how they started your new potted plant, with half a dozen leaflets. You can leave them just as they are. As long as they're still green, then they're still viable and photosynthesizing food for your plant. Once they're no longer needed, they will naturally shed these leaflets on their own. No need to remove them prematurely. Your plant is still relatively young. Give it time to grow bigger and make these decisions itself. All you have to do is give it plenty of bright indirect sunlight and water, and just sit back and enjoy it. Mine thrives on my "neglect," and it has already turned into a big beautiful monster, HaHa! :)

Saw the baby today perched on a branch just a couple of inches from the nest, with parent on the nest. Checked just now - no sign of either of them.

This has been a great opportunity, have had several kids quietly observing with me. The parent became alarmed once and flew from the nest, doing the "I'm wounded" performance. My 10 y/o friend Emily did a very graceful imitation of that flight the next day for visiting relatives. Thank you for the guidance you provided. I really appreciate it.
