Neat!! We usually have barred owls around here, but last year there was a great horned with a baby. It was fun listening to them talk to and follow each other through the woods. Thanks for sharing!

You'd think the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service would recognize the difference between a Great-horned Owl and Eurasian Eagle Owl. Good catch. I left them a message on the Flickr link that this photo came from. Wonder if I'll get a response to that. Actually, went back in there and found several mis-ID'd raptors. Weird. I expected better. Great pictures this morning. Nicole, I love how that owl just blends in with the tree! No wonder they are so hard to see out in the woods. I took my picture just now. We have had a ton of rain in the past 24 hours and the daffodils are a bit droopy.

Wow. I've only heard one and it was in the big maple tree late one night years ago when I was returning home from a gig. As I stepped up on my back porch I heard it calling, mesmerizing.
