Round Robin Exchange

Can anyone answer this question?

I am posting this for a fellow Gwer way up north in Canada who is having a problem after starting his RR. I can't answer this one! Anyone veterens know the answer? Here's the question:

I have set it up already and I think I have misunderstood something. I am supposed to have mailed out the Robin yesterday but am pretty sure something is wrong with it.

I set it up that I send five seed packets to person #1, they choose whatever they want out of it and replace it and ADD five more packets and so on ... until it gets back to me. Now I think what is clueing me in to the fact that I messed up is that the package will be getting increasingly heavier and each person will have to pay additionally more postage.

PLUS with me being at the END of the Robin round, I will be the one to end up with a WHOLE LOTTA SEEDS!!! Person #1 will only have had a selection from the five seed packets, person #2 will have selection from 10

packets... and it continues in increases of five packets each time. THIS IS NOT WHAT I HAD INTENDED!!! HELP!!!!

I am now under the impression that everyone was supposed to send ME five packets, then I add my five and then I send out the 45 seed packets to person #1. Is that the NORMAL way to do a Round Robin?Another idea I have is that due to the time constraints caused by me messing this up, maybe I could just volunteer about 10 to 20 seed packets from my collection and send it on to person #1 TODAY to get things

started. Then they could select what they want from my collection and replace

with an equal number of packets from their collection and then on to the next person. This seems to be the most logical way to solve my problem. What do YOU think?

Well as the host, you could have started it with say...25 packets if you had 5 participants. The 25 packs are mailed to the first person who, selects as many as they want and replace the same number of packs so that you still have 25 packs....and so on....
When it comes back to you, you have 25 packs of different seeds than when you started.
Be sure to e-mail everyone when you decide exactly how many packs will be traveling....

That is going to be the easiest thing to do and it is probably not too late to catch up with it if you notify the first person to hold it until you can send more packs.

My horseradish doesn't have prickers on the stem. It is a rather smooth plant. I'd guess you have a weed. Please post a picture. You can also compare to pix at google. FataMorgana Here is a link that might be useful: google images - horseradish

36' Bluestar with Charbroiler

DHC8-There is a very very simple solution to that issue. The grates on a bluestar have 3 height positions. Lets call them low, midpoint and high. These positions are achieved simply by the way you place the grate into it's cradle. If you put the grate into it's cradle in the midpoint position it raises the grate that 1/8" you need to clear the lip on the grill or griddle. As someone else posted, scorch marks are possible on the stainless cover, so if you are using a really large diameter pot on a 22k burner, I usually take the covers off to prevent scorching. I would sincerely recommend a bluestar. With it's unparalleled 22k open star burner and its large capacity ovens, it truly is a pleasure to use. I have not had one quality issue with mine yet. I have had it since the 4th of July. I actually look forward to cooking a meal. I had a Viking before the Bluestar, and I enjoyed that as well, but the Bluestar is in a league of its own. You also asked another poster if the grill met their expectations. Well, my $.02. In my opinion it takes quite a while to heat up, and it is not easy to clean. I think probably an infrared grill would be better for both circumstances. Once it is heated fully, it is sufficient to cook a 1.5 inch thick steak beautifully to medium rare. I think an infrared grill would actually be the single biggest improvement Bluestar could make to their ranges. Otherwise, in my experiences it has been a dream.
