What a pretty blue! Nice to have such a visitor! ~Rosemarie

According to the map shown in the Peterson Field Guide to the birds of North Am., East of the Rockies (exact title?), it can inhabit, during the nesting season, the whole of your State. I have never had one of these in my yard and sure wished I did! Here in S-W Quebec, they can be seen in shrubby fields, like around power lines, or at the edge of regenerating woods and (sugar maple) forests.

Great picture!! S/he makes quite the contrast with the Gold Finch! I had an Indigo Bunting, once. It was the same year I had Baltimore Orioles. I haven't had either since. My parents had Indigo Buntings last year. Quite a few of them too! That's what I was going to say about the Bluebirds..go to TN. They were all around us down there, but we didn't live there long enough for me to get them onto our property.

Oh gosh flowerchild, that is a really sad finding. I feel sure that you are correct. They must have crashed right into the window. My sister has a female Bluebird who is attacking her windows, and she found a website that sells really nice window decals to prevent this kind of thing from happening. The ones she bought were quite pretty. Here is the site if you want to check it out. I am sure that lots of businesses sell this type of thing. You can Google for more of them. That's what I would do. I would put up some decals to try to alert them so that you decrease the chances of having this happen again.~~Angie Here is a link that might be useful: Window Decals
