OKAY, FELIX!!! I HEARD THAT, YOU KNOW!!! Anyway, I always thought dogs were supposed to LOOK like their owners, not act like them. And I know I am not a stubby-legged, long-nosed little sausage. (Okay, maybe the SAUSAGE part is right.) *grin* Felix is right, Tree...Maks was bad, bad, bad. He barked all day long at everything and everybody. He even got so worked up, he would run up to empty chairs and bark at them. (Just in case anyone he didn't approve of might sit in one.) I have to take him to puppy school to get him better socialized. Even poor ol' psychotic Potter got over his fright and played or behaved quietly. Maks has a VERY loud bark, too. Quite annoying. I think he learned it from his UNCLE FELIX, if you ask me! It was a great day, truly. So much fun watching the fire brown the Roast Beast. Here is Felix, carving it all up for the table. And here's the whole crew sitting down at Sylvia's lovely table to enjoy the feast! What will I ever do to return the invitation? I will have to roast a WHOLE COW!!! Marcia

Oh, wow! Yes, having them right next to each other like that helps a lot. But is Sovereign Queen usually really light pink like that? I was thinking of it as a lavender daylily, too. Or could the rebloom change the color that much? Or was I completely mistaken on that point? Lately, pictures of Spode are looking a lot more pink than lavender, too ... so I very likely could be off. It's funny, but when Dave's Garden shows pictures of Sovereign Queen varying from the very light pink that your picture shows (pictures #6 & #7) to a purple nearly as deep at Court Magician (picture #3), it makes it rather exceedingly difficult to get a good idea of what the color really is... Here is a link that might be useful: Dave's Sovereign Queen pictures

Jessica, to answer your question about LB, I've only had it a couple of years, and the scapes didn't get as tall this season as they should have, but then, it's been a crazy year weather wise. I do love the color and form of LB very much, and hopefully next season will be a better one for dl's. Thanks for your compliments about my photos. I just use a Kodak CX7525, but it takes pretty good pics. :) Thanks to everyone else who has commented on my photos also. You're all the greatest, and I love sharing my dl's with you all, but I also love seeing yours, so get to posting some more please!!! :) Jan

Josh's s neighborhood plant is a great example of what happens after recycling everything into making the inflorescence. Nothing is left afterwards except seeds (hopefully), pups in the ground, and maybe bulbils (clones of the plant) on the inflorescence in some species. A 10 meter high branched infloresence is spectacular. Grace, your Agave angustifolia 'Marginata' is looking terrific. Definitely NOT a houseplant. It has a terrible disposition, being sharp, mean, and vicious. It is one of the original Maguey encountered by Spanish explorers in the sixteenth century. Brad
