terrene - that's feverfew (Tanacetum parthenium) someone gave me in exchange for some of my WS perennial sprouts. I'm still on the fence about it so it's in a pot rather than in the ground at this point. I'm in north central CT. I notice my grass is getting crunchier too and my hydrangeas are calling out for water. No rain in the forecast the next 5 days tells me I'm going to lose a few things that haven't had time to adapt or send roots down deep enough. Sigh...

Hey, this was an interesting post. I don't know quite what to comment on as it reads more like a story happening in your garden. Complete with pictures and the cast of charactors being Bowie and the Swans. I would love your backyard right on the lake. Maybe I could even manage to get my feet wet once in a while unlike here were I have to walk down to the water. Like its soooo far LOL! So, I am not the only nut working out there in this heat. You sure did get alot acomplished. I love the rock edging you put around that reworked gardenbed. The whole thing looks so good with the daylilies and iris mixed in. And I know that come spring there will be all those extra nice daffs that you have blooming. I bought some bags of daff bulbs at home depot so I have 200 daffs to plant for spring color. I love that new daylily you brought home, Psalter and harp. What a color. It looks like it just glows. I would have brought it home too, thats for sure. All the other daylilies look good too. You still have a nice amount of bloom left.

Trini! Thanks so much for posting more pics of your lovely garden and pond. I just love looking at all the detail you put into it. I especially love the statues and asian garden art. I've never seen such unique asian-style statuaries. Especially the buddha in the middle! I also love the pond edging. I remember when you mortared all those rocks in not so long ago. I am amazed at how quickly they've acquired the 'always been there' look. Beautiful. And how lucky that those volunteer ferns have grown in to make it all so natural. I also enjoyed seeing all the ground covers you are trying. It gave me a bit of pleasure tonight after a very tiring day. Thank-you!!! Anna

I purchased mine from Bluestone Perennials last year, so it was tiny, tiny. Here is a picture of it taken recently. Still small, but blooming nicely. Please ignore all the weeds under the porch, we need to put down fabric and stones.
