What kind of bird is this?

I love birds and we have several feeders in the yard. Right outside my studio I have a regular feeder and lately this pretty little bird has been showing up. I have never seen one like it and he is small, maybe about 5 or 6 inches long. He is beautiful with his azure blue feathers. Does anyone recognize him? Thanks, yall. Oh, I live in the south, Florida to be exact if that helps. Sorry the photo is not very good but I had to take the picture through my window screen. He isn't very trusting yet so this was as close as I could get before he flew away - but he keeps coming back.

Just saw one on the ground tonight. These birds only showed up around here several years ago, but lots of them are here all the time now.........drinking their tea. :)

Looks like a domestic pigeon that probably escaped from its owner or didn't find it's way home. Head structure doesn't look like a Homing pigeon.

Yes, Indigo Bunting. I usually have a small flock of them. They seem to like the tiny seed heads of a grass in the yard.

Thank you all for replying. I looked up Indigo Bunting and that appears to be the bird that is at my feeder. He is beautiful but a bit skittish. The feeder is right outside my studio window and he can see me through the glass so he is real hesitant to get on the feeder and if there is the slightest movement on my part, he flies off. Thanks again.

Wow! Lucky you! Never had one come to a feeder, but all I offer is BOSS and suet

Gorgeous bird, and lucky you!!I have friends who get them at their feeders. WHITE MILLET is a favorite of theirs. You can buy a bag of it at a wild bird store.

I kept a feeder of white millet up for two years, but no takers. My feeders hang in the front picture window and Indigo Buntings usually nest just behind the house, near our bedroom window

It's funny how foods that work well in one area might not work in another, isn't it Rachel? For instance, my Goldfinches would just as soon have BOSS as Thistle. It doesn't matter a whit to them. All of my friends who get the Buntings at their feeders are feeing white millet. They are careful to avoid cheap mixes with loads of milo.
