You should definitely keep removing their nests. You can make wren guards for your bluebird boxes. This only works if the wrens haven't already found the bluebird boxes. I'll post the link below. You've probably gone to this site before, but if not it has some really good information on it.

I agree. Get rid of the wren nest. I had a wren that wouldn't give up last year. I removed her/their sticks EVERY day after work. She then laid an egg in the EMPTY nesting box! I hate wrens anywhere near my yard after they tossed the 1-day old baby blues out of the nesting box last summer.

Good news here though. Papa and Mama fledged 6 their first brood this year and they have 6 eggs in nest #2. Left the sparrow spooker on after the 1st fledglings left and put the wren guard back on after the 1st egg of the 2nd brood was laid. So, hopefully, the wrens will be fooled. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Glad your bluebirds are doing well. I took the wren nest out and now she sits on the box (or he). Bluebirds are in the other box and are about 14 days old now. Saw parents this morning. Haven't checked the box though for fear the babies will get out. I checked a couple of days ago and they seemed to have all of their feathers. Keep your fingers crossed.

Wrens can't hurt 14-day old bluebirds. I believe they are "safe" after about day 6. By then they're too large for the wren to toss them out of the box. Correct, Donna?

I do understand that the baby bbs will be safe since they are 14 days old. These wrens are relentless. I hesitate to leave that box open for fear the wrens will try to make a nest in the bb nesting box with the babies so that is why I just have been taking their nest out, but they keep rebuilding. When the little ones fledge, I will try leaving the wren box open so maybe they will get discouraged. I have another box a little further away now, but no takers.
