What a neat feeder Lucy I love it. Yesterday we had to repair the wiring in a lady's care where a squirrel had chewed threw it so we clean out the nest repair the wiring change the headlight bulb and call her to pick it up. She says can I see what you did and we open the hood and out flies this bit fat red squirrel, lol. She was still in there hiding through all that work and we didn't know. You should have heard all the men squeal. I laughed so hard then the dogs ran the poor thing up a tree. I told the lady she had to go get her squirrel and take it with her or there would be an extra charge, lol. I don't need her eating wiring in all those cars at the shop. Eloise don't be surprised if that pumpkin doesn't sprout all over, lol. I threw out a bag of squash that I had grown in the garden that had been frozen but thawed out during a long power outage in my compost pile back when we lived in the country and had squash alllll over the yard, lol.

Well, we had our Arbor Day Event at school on Tuesday the 13th so that by the time the REAL Arbor Day came around I almost forgot it. By the way, those seedlings that we got from the Georgia Forestry Commission were HUGE. They must have been 3-4 years old and most of them were 2-3 feet tall. The bus driver supervisor contacted the school to complain the next day because they were SO big that he felt they impaired the drivers' ability to see. Oops. Orders for trees can placed starting July 1, 2007 for delivery December 1 through February (delivered no charge to your county office). See the link below, this is such a good deal. We had a few extra Quercus Georgiana seedlings, so I did spend some time potting those up for future use. And I ordered 50 pine seedlings for my own yard, so I spent some time yesterday clearing out an area overgrown with smilax and then planting them. My neighbor has cut down just about every tree on his side of the property line so I wanted to add a few trees back on MY side for a buffer. He hopes to put a pool there one day, I want to make sure that I don't have to look at it! The upcoming warm trend (check your 10 day forecast) looks like a welcome change! Cute.....as a trial run I "did" my DGG....

Had my first one ever today, and oh so good. One I had was on homemade biscuits, yummy! The Legendary Hot Brown Recipe Ingredients: 4 oz. Butter Flour to make a Roux (about 6 tablespoons) 3 - 3 1/2 cups Milk 1 Beaten Egg 6 tablespoons Grated Parmesan Cheese 1 oz. Whipped Cream (optional) Salt and Pepper to Taste Slices of Roast Turkey 8-12 Slices of Toast (may be trimmed) Extra Parmesan for Topping 8-12 Strips of Fried Bacon Melt butter and add enough flour to make a reasonably thick roux (enough to absorb all of the butter). Add milk and Parmesan cheese. Add egg to thicken sauce, but do not allow sauce to boil. Remove from heat. Fold in whipped cream. Add salt and pepper to taste. For each Hot Brown, place two slices of toast on a metal (or flameproof) dish. Cover the toast with a liberal amount of turkey. Pour a generous amount of sauce over the turkey and toast. Sprinkle with additional Parmesan cheese. Place entire dish under a broiler until the sauce is speckled brown and bubbly. Remove from broiler, cross two pieces of bacon on top, and serve immediately.
