Begginner Bluebirder

Hi everyone I have been interested in bluebirding for a few years now but I haven't been able to help out because I live on very small land with a small, simple backyard with mostly woods. I want to adopt a trail or somehow attract bluebirds to my yard although I've never seen any near my yard. I live in a town in Massachusetts that has it's own state park and a lot of open fields with many bluebird trails that I often see. I would love to be able to help out and monitor a trail or own my own trail but I don't know how or where to start. Any advice is deeply appreciated and if anyone lives in MA and might have a clue for me I would love that as well. Massachusetts is in zone 6 I believe and my postal code is 02356.

Thank you very much.

I checked and found this address for your state's bluebird society: http://massbluebird.org/
You might also consider contacting local birding/ornithological groups in your area to put out some feelers. Someone belonging to such an organization may be involved with bluebird trails or at least know someone who is. Good luck and keep us posted.

Sialis is a great website to learn a lot about Blues.

I agree with Kathy, contact your local Bluebird society, there are many trails that have been abandoned, with nobody to monitor them.
