Pecked Eggs (picture)

If you are seeing pecked eggs thrown on the ground by a box, the #1 suspect is probably a House Wren this time of year (ESPECIALLY if you already have a sparrow spooker up. House Sparrows will also peck eggs). I've got a few very aggressively territorial House Wrens this year that are wreaking havoc on my trail. They have taken out two complete bluebird clutches (one a day or so from hatching), a Tree Swallow nest, and two Titmice nests (one with eggs, one with 5 babies....)

See wren deterrence tips at link below. I've had mixed success (sometimes very effective) luck with wren guards, but keep trying that and everything else....
