Injured Mockingbird

I have a Mockingbird that I've repeatedly caught in my live trap. It's baited with peanut butter for squirrels. The bird's lower beak is inoperable & he is unable to eat normally so the peanut butter is something he is able to eat. . The lower beak just hangs & flops. Putting him down would be the kindest thing but I'm not ready to do that yet. He's become accustomed to being handled since I've caught him so many times that I can almost hand feed him.

He comes within 2' feet of me & eats from a bowl I've set out.

I've made him a gruel from peanut butter, mashed sunflower seeds & mashed grapes.
