Especially when dealing with "bargains" you don't even know if the photo is of the actual plants being sold or if it's a stock photo. If you have your heart set on a particular kind of flower wait until you see it in flower in a nursery and then buy it. The plant you buy can sometimes be divided even before you plant it into two or three divisions. You may pay more but you will have what you want.

Hi everyone, thanks for your thoughts on this. It is much appreciated. So, as far as sealing goes, it's been sealed a few times over the years. We usually try to reseal once per year. When water gets on it it just sits there, and then I wipe it down with microfiber after getting ready in the morning and getting ready for bed at night. That's partially why it having absorbed all this water seemed odd; it seemed unlikely that water would have sat on top of it for enough time to soak in. I will definitely check the seal between the sink and the countertop. I am away for a week now which is probably good for my sanity so that I can see if it dries and stop obsessing over it. I did mention this theory to my husband before we left, and he confirmed that there is no wood underneath the countertop. In other words it's not like there would be wet wood underneath causing this; the countertop is exposed on the underside in the built-in and would be able to dry completely. HOWEVER, I recall looking at the portion lining the sink and noting that the darker color goes throughout the marble, indicating it could be water from below. We will also check for a leak. The leak is starting to feel like a very plausible explanation. Lastly, while it COULD be my cleaning person, I don't own any cleaning products with oil in them. She brought this Diversey Emerel stuff, but looking at the ingredients I think it would have caused etching (it's a mild acidic) rather than dark oil stains. I also don't really think she would have used on the marble. But, if we can't get to the bottom of this I'll press her a bit more on it. I did reiterate that she should only use Stonetech cleaner on the marble and microfiber. Finally, my husband was in the bathroom polishing those fixtures with a polished nickel polish that morning. He does this once a year and is meticulous, so I do not think it would have been a result of that. However, he claims that he thinks that the stain was there that morning, before the cleaning person came. I don't recall seeing it, however it's also possible I just didn't notice in my rush to get out the door. I will update in a week when we return to let everyone know if this dried! During this time the water will not be used for a full week, so I think we will know if it does dry that it's either a leak or a sealing problem and go after both.
