Happy Birthdy Harold!

Gee I dont know why you are the only one out of the 4 or 5 of us that have Birthdays this week that I can remember .....maybe because you are the only guy.

I don't wanna play the guessing game but I think Linda, Janie and Cathy??? Will you guys let me know if I am even close??? If Im not remind me who has a birthday this week and take it easy on me im going to be 50! LOL Just hoping as usual for my birthday egg!

Lisa the other one besides you and Harold who has a birthday is Bet. I remember from 3 years ago I named an egg after each one of you bc each egg was laid on your birthdays. If Harold's is Friday and yours is Sunday then Bet's is Saturday. I know they were right in a row. We don't want to forget about Bet!!! I did name one of the babies after Janie because she sent me some calcium powder to help out after I lost my papa bird.

WOW...lots of spring birthdays, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY all of you and many more! Oh Lisa, it seems like only yesterday that I was 50, but believe me, it's more years than I care to remember! Speaking of Janie May, I'm pretty sure her birthday is in Jan. as is mine.

Lisa, do you have any special plans for the big 50??? My wonderful dh gave me a big surprise party for my 60th! (ok, so now you all know!) It really was one of the most special events of my life. Did I celebrate my 50th?? Can't remember a darn thing about that one!

Again, Happy Birthday All, and the same to all the little new blues!

Howdy All...Now that summer 'finally' came, we've been very very busy, digging and redigging the garden/s: Next is tilling. Also been hauling plants outside. Hi Irina..how have you been? Sorry I'm responding late. Irina, I'd have no idea how to find a county extension employee. The county we're in covers a large portion of Il. Numerous cities, including Chicago. Still, you had to be heart-broken tossing plants. I used the word compost because it sounds better than dumpster..lol..didn't want to hurt your feelings. :) Hey Fred..And how are you? It's been a long time. About shelves. Maybe I have a pic or will take one. There are three shelves in the window. The first/top shelf holds Caudex plants/succulents. The middle/second and last/third holds African Violets..Or I should say, held. Since the Mealy episode, I ended up tossing a good number. I miscounted the last time I responded. I said there were 13 violets left. There are actually 15 but one will probably go in the compost, or as Irina said, dumpster. :) I discovered most variegated plants, regardless of type, need not only sun but a cool period to keep variegation. The window must be cool enough because my variegated violets remained variegated. One violet 'was' a, oh can't recall the name, maybe Fisherman's Paradise?? It was beautiful. Its leaves were green, white and deep pink. It was at least 4-years old, and one that had to be tossed. Irina, I really am sorry about your violets. It's difficult to detach what we love. Hi Janet, It was a great day. I love my guys as they get older they are so much fun and silly as ever. I will try to find time to go to Sunrise soon. I am sure the girls have new ones. They keep adding as they old ones leave. I got a $10 coupon I need to use from a previous purchase....hmmmm now what can I fit in the garden. Got to stick to mini's. And that's becoming another habit. lol Have you been back. I know they usually have a sale with the corn roast every year. Give them a call or check on line they may say. Also the mum balls are to die for in the fall. Very unusual and again more hosta's!

Thanks Cathy. She is only about an hour away. Her Blues overwinter with her, mine don't. She is south east of me. Hers are always a head of mine. Thanks for the Bday greeting!

AAAHHH thanks Cathy...I knew you and Janie had something to do with it LOL and no we cant forget our dear BET! I guess having 1/2 of a memory is better than none....wonder how long before THAT happens! LOL

Hey guys, I had a birthday earlier this month and it's that magical number (50) for me, too! Didn't phase me a bit. They say that 50 is the new 35 . . . or is it 40? Anyway, doesn't matter. As my 94 year old grandmother has said on many an occasion, "it's not so bad, especially when you consider the alternative"! Guess she ought to know.

Well I turned 49 this year so I guess I'm the youngster!!! ROFLMAO We all have days where we feel 100 or at least I do.
