But you did get rebloom, ruth? I was not saying that deadheading would produce more blooms, sorry if I didn't make that clear. I was just saying I was happy to see I got a second round of blooms and that the plant produced them before I could even get to deadhead it. I would still deadhead anyway, just because I would rather look at the new blooms without those that are spent still on the plant. I do only have a small patch of it. I wonder what Terrene does, who has a whole lot more of it than I do.

Everyone in NC except me seems to have their hummers =( I have all my flowers and feeders out ready to go. Had 12 or so of them last year. Was just hoping our area was " slow ". Well, I'm a home health nurse and today went to see one of my patients who also loves flowers and hummers. I asked her if she had any yet (less than 10 miles from my house) She said yes, she's had them for weeks. Then we went to here kitchen window where I watched one feed for several minutes bouncing back and forth from the feeders. She said there were several more somewhere. I was excited to finally see one again this season but tempted to try to snactch him and take him home ;)

My old gal has had bouts with diarrhea for quite a few years. When they start, I immediately change her diet to the Eukanuba Low Residue Adult - equivilent of chicken and rice you would make at home (kibble is just more convenient and less time consuming). We also start Metronizadole (keep it in the house for when the diarrhea flares up) as well as the low residue food. At one point late last spring we thought that she would have to be on the low residue food indefinitely. She can go 5 days on and 5 days off with the Metronizadole. We haven't gotten to the point where she has done that schedule, it is usually resolved with 5 days of the Metronizadole. I'm not positive, but I don't think the Metro is an antibiotic, and if it isn't, why is your vet putting your dog on antibiotic for diarrhea? Has he done any tests for the origin of these episodes? Have you thought about changing the diet to a food that includes oatmeal. I recently changed from Nutro's Sensitive Stomach formula to a product called VeRus which has similiar components to the Nutro product. All is going well with the VeRus - no episodes of diarrhea. breton2 oh I agree, there's nothing like walking into the store and seeing what letsgobird posted! (It's like Christmas morning!) Even with fresh shipments, you still gotta pick thru it to find the good stuff, tho. The weird thing is that I've seen one winter shipment that looked excellent, then another a few months later that was absolutely terrible. So odd how that is. letsgobird7b HA! Me too! I just scored a whole flat of African Violets that had been water logged for quite sometime, a lot of the foliage was damaged/falling off. I brought them home, removed the bad leaves, gave them fresh soil and they look like totally different plants...they actually look really good! I think they liked spending their days in a greenhouse instead of the outhouse and I can only imagine what they will look like with time. (: Oh, and I got them for 50cent each to take them off their hands! PS - I have absolutely no issues rescuing plants LOL
