Tanaka has a great reputation, and Robin equipment is always good stuff (Makita sells exact copies under their name, BTW). I have a RedMax BCZ2400S that I have been very impressed with. It's pretty quiet and light, and runs incredibly well with lots of power. They've got a unique stratified-charge system of induction that allows them to pass all emissions requirements without a catalytic converter. It works well. I've had good luck with Echos, too. I've heard/read mixed reviews on Stihl, where some models are great and some are not so hot. The Shindaiwa brand is highly respected, but some of the newer models with the catalytic converters have not run as consistently well as their older ones. I haven't read anything but praise for the Husqvarna trimmers.

Beverly, it isn't just sagging fabric at the bottom. The issue is that the frame is also hanging low. I would gladly staple the fabric back in place, but that isn't possible because the frame adjoins it and would prevent me from tacking it back. I'm astonished by the tone the thread has taken and I'm feeling especially grateful that the experts we worked with to restore and renovate our home were always open, with a kind and helpful approach, to our layperson questions. It was a collaborative process and I believed the Houzz community would be similarly open, helpful, and kind. For what it's worth, I took maddielee's advice and contacted the manufacturer via social media and they have responded. I didn't contact the seller for various reasons; I'm aware that is typically the appropriate route. I will inquire with Houzz about closing this thread.

I have three large patches of erigeron pulchellus in my lawn. It blooms for about three weeks. After going to seed it gets mowed. It's an ideal plant for those who practice No Mow May. Your question inspired me to walk around studying the basal rosettes yesterday afternoon. Grass and white clover are growing amongst them. I don't think it would be an effective weed blocker - perhaps it should be left in the meadow. For a native ground cover that really covers have you tried packera aurea?
