Where the heck are they????

The Blues that is. The last two years between our yard and the park where I monitor Blues, I have had up to three pairs and the year before that (before the park was there) we had them in our yard. This year I spotted a pair of Blues checking out housing both here and at the park on March 17 and for about 4 days after that. Then we got a cold spell and they vanished. It has turned quite nice for quite some time now but the Blues are no where to be seen both here and at the park, I listen and look daily. The TRES returned on April 4th and their numbers have been increasing daily. They are claiming nestboxes like mad, now I love the TRES too but I want some housing for the Blues should they return. It is odd that both here and at the park there are no Bluebirds. Last year there were 14 that fledged from the park that I watched grow up and here at the house there were four that fledged and I watched and photographed them as they changed into their adult colors. I surely won't miss spending the $$ on the mealworms but I will greatly miss just seeing them and monitoring them if we don't get any this year. I sure hope some show up soon, last year by this time we had nestbuilding going on already by the Blues at the park, however the ones here at the house didn't come in until late May. AT least I can read about all your stories......
