Well I sure enjoyed looking at all the beautiful pics. Still not finished the alphabet yet. Just home from work. Later tonight I'll look at more. I started writing down my list and who had them, but then decided to put them on a word document sheet. Seemed quicker and more organized. You girls are a lot more organized than I am. Being a clematis addict, I know most of the names of those that I have, and roses, but the rest, I have no idea what variety hosta or phlox or potentilla I have other than pink potentilla, white phlox, etc. It's too late in the season to take many pics now for posting in the 2009 alphabet, but I'm sure I could find a few. I didn't realize there were soooo many different iris, lilies, .... I'm only on a small city lot, so don't have acres to plant like you girls. (Green with envy) So far I didn't see anyone post pics of their alstroemaria. They don't have those here. I asked a nursery why not and they told me it was too humid here and they didn't like that kind of weather.

Wow, so many beautiful plants still blooming in this record heat. Thanks for getting out and taking pics. I'm going to rearrange some things this fall so I put more summer bloomers where I can see them from the house!

roselee - thanks for the suggestion for the otho b gone. I guess I am a glutton for punishment in that department. With the exception of fire ants (and that's after I'v exhausted other options), I am totally organic. :) melvalena -Thanks so much! My mama was quite an amazing gardener and decorator (think southern living) and such an inspiration. She gave me the passion for gardening and I can't think of a better way to honor her either. I am anxious to get some vines going and this will make it so much easier. pjtexgirl - thanks!! The little girl statue came from my mama's garden. She's been a fixture since I was a little girl. My sweet puppy that is in the last picture....we just had to put her down last week and boy it's been tough. She was always content to lay in the yard with me while I gardened. She is missed so much. Thought I would add another shot of my angel helper Sadie. She was napping after a busy day helping me outside.
