Carrie - you gardens are gorgeous. I am just to the east of you but everything here is all browned out from heat and lack of water. We watch those storms develope and hit the Charlotte area but they fizzle out by the time they reach us - the 95 corridor of NC is DRY DRY DRY. ~~sigh~~ this week 95-100 and no rain in sight. I am so discouraged this year but then I see your gardens and I know they can be beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing and giving me hope to press on. Thanks goodness for wintersowing - at least it doesn't break the bank for all that color ..... Lynne

Rita, It is not that they don't bloom at the same time, just this is the first time they have both bloomed so heavily at the same time. They are in a back corner that I could never keep watered before but now have installed an underground sprinkler system and both plants are loving it. I hope this is the first of many good bloom years. Julie, Persian Pattern is new to me this spring too. Well, almost everything is...LOL. You'll love how she almost looks you in the face. I'm glad you enjoy my photographs. It is so nice to be able to share them. Isn't the internet great? I never would have imagined 20 yrs ago that I'd be sharing my garden photos with people all over the world this way.

Wow, Nefertiti! I love that one, and must get it one of these years! You have a great assortment of colors. I really like American Revolution and Wayside Painted Lady. You are the first person here (that I can remember) that has posted Patricia Fay, a great vintage (and tall-36"!) daylily from 1960. I also have it in my garden, and came across it quite by accident a couple of years ago when it was blooming all by itself in a local nursery. Mine actually has a bit of coral coloring with the pink. Boo, I grew Cherokee Trail of Tears a couple years ago. They did stay pretty short through most of July, and then they took off like Rockets! I got a nice crop out of them. I've been getting rain, but thankfully not too much. I'm lucky with the weather most of the time. Sometimes the patterns go haywire though, and I get bizarre/bad weather. I live in the lane between the two lake patterns. Often times you can be at my house and see the line of clouds to the north and south, and have it clear here. So unless a storm or cloud cover is massive, I miss the brunt of it. Of course when it is a really dry summer, I'm talking to the cloud begging them to move over this way! Remy

Fabulous looking plants and excellent pictures.

Just curious to know the secret for such healthy plants ? Also what camera are you using. I have taken many garden pics but they don't come so good..

use MG every 2 weeks, water with .5-1 gallon a day

Lots of SUN

not sure the camera, think it is a power-shot i believe
