I have large terra cotta saucers on the ground to hold mixed seed. Lately we have found lots of 'oval shaped" pellets about 3/4 " long of what looks like undigested seed stuck together in the saucers. At first I thought it was old birdseed that had been dug out of the bottom of a tube feeder that had gotten wet and stuck together. But couldn't figure out how it would have gotten into the saucers. This has happened several times in the last 2 weeks. Last night just before dark I checked the feeders and there was nothing unusual there. This morning all 3 feeders had these nasty looking pellets in them along with the fresh seed I had put in them yesterday. Does anyone have a clue? Is this a trademark of some animal? Oh my gosh, my husband just asked me to come outside and see the flower pot that we have a cattail feeder in. It's still full of sunflower seeds but the pot is full of ---you guessed it---undigested birdseed pellets! What animal is pooping in my backyard?!
