Nice to see winter flocks in Rhode Island

Last to weekends i have made mid winter check of box's looking for bluebirds
at the same time. I was very happy to see small flocks that have stayed behind.
I hope for mild weather for them But its not looking good. Hope they hold up in
there nesting units. I managed 28 pairs and fledged 184 I have enjoyed ever season since i started in 1990. If i were younger i would still have 70 plus box's but with my Martin colony's I now manage 50 bluebird box's Its a lot
of walking just hope my health hangs in there. My trail is in north central RI
in the towns of Smithfield and North Smithfield Probably largest number of nesting bluebirds per town in these two communities. ----Ray
