That facebook page detailed how they grew it. Recommend serpentine soil. Apparently the ph can vary, too. I often use hot tap water, put in the seeds, and then let them soak for 12 hours. This helps break dormancy. Don't plant seeds too deep. I'd say a dusting of soil and then pat it lightly. Some seeds need more light than others to germinate. But, it's important to use milkweed from sources local to you. Even if it's the same species. So, even if we shipped our seed or plants, it may not be the best for your area.

Sorry, I never found Asclepias rubra. If only! But I have located a seller of Asclepias quadrifolia in New York state, and have exchanged emails with the nursery owner. So, that is to say, I have given up on rubra and have plans for quadrifolia, but in the future I will definitely be able to trade seeds fro quadrifolia. What milkweed species do you grow currently? And, I am not sure if this is too specific a question, but do you know anything about rare asclepias syriaca varients (such as white common milkweed)? I am very interested in them and can trade or pay.

Looking for seeds for these not so common milkweeds. A. lanuginosa, A.quadrifolia, A. amplexicaulis, and A. longifolia. I have many seeds to trade including a couple rare milkweeds.
