Silly question about baby tomatoes...

Bag of Bees

my original thread is over here for anyone that wants to take a peek.

my question is - how do i know if i'm suffering from blossom drop or if a tomato is going to grow? it probably sounds like a ridiculous question to the people with experience, but i'm a noob and i can't tell. i originally thought that blossom drop was apparent when the entire flower fell off at the stem, though i later read that the flower itself can wither up and die. none of the flowers have fallen off at the stem.

the cherry tomato plant on my patio has tons of blooms all over it, but most of them just wither up and go away. a tiny nub is left behind but it doesn't really look like a tomato to me. it just looks like... a nub, haha. unfortunately i suspect it's the latter, but i'd like to know for sure. :)

i will go out there a little later and try to get a photo of it if people think it will help.

thanks!
