Broken tomato stems yielding lots of plants

A few weeks ago as I was adjusting my Sweet Baby Girl tomato stems to have them fit in the tomato cage, I accidentally broke three branches.

I had read that you can start tomato plants from the suckers, so I thought I'd experiment to see if an entire tomato branch might root also.

I put them in water and now all three have roots. Given that I already have 25 plants growing, I do not need anymore. I have given the three rooted branches to friends who are very happy to get these tomato plants. All three of the branches already had little tomatoes on them when they broke and I see that a few new tomatoes started while they were rooting in water.

It was a fun experiment!
