Dr. Carolyn,
I just gor through pruning and weeding both my BLACK CHERRY an AZTEC NEGRO tomatoes and although the fruit may be very much alike the plants are different.
The AZTEC is a far more aggressive plant. Also the water sprouts are different. On the BLACK they are simple and on the AZTEC they are more complex.
I have a pink-orange tomato on one of the BLACK plants. Will it turn black when it is ripe?
Lots of green fruit so far. Although it just turned hot this last week. Into the high 90's. good for tomatoes and corn.
Anyway i think the jury is still out on the AZTEC and the BLACK being the same tomato.
I don't know is I have enough BLACK's to make a good observation. I only havew 4 BLACK's and between 40 and 50 AZTEC'a.
