Buying tomato seed - Varieties the same everywhere?

I've started toying with starting seed. I haven't tried tomatoes before, but am planning to (I hope) give it a try next year.

There's a few varieties I particularly love, and have purchased the plants from nurseries. However, I can't always figure out the seed source. For example:

Black Cherry - local nursery won't tell me the seed source

Pineapple - was Burpee seed

Sungold - was Burpee seed

Are all Black Cherry seeds the same? Does it matter who I buy the seed from?

And the Burpee plants - I didn't realize Sungold was a hybrid Burpee thing - but they're great. So I guess that one's easy.

My pineapple tomato (haven't eaten any yet) was also from Burpee this year. I've had pineapple last year - I got the plant, of all things, from a grocery store. But, if I search Burpee's site, I don't find it. Don't know what's up with that. So again, are all Pineapple seeds the same?

Finally, again, are all sources equal - nyagous, cherokee purple, black krim?

I'd love to start my own, but don't want to end up with varieties that are different from what I have now and love - especially my beloved black cherry.

Thanks in advance for any insight!
