Help-Overwatering or Early Blight? (PICS) Leaves yellow w/ brown

I am having the same problem as last year with my tomatoes (Denver, co) - Both in a container and the garden - Here are some pics.

Bottom leaves are yellowing, brown on edges, and dying off. Spreading upward, but tops still dark green and plant is setting fruit finally. Garden is in middle of lawn water by automatic sprinkler 3 days per week. Have also watered some by hand.

Is this overwatering, plant disease (blight, vert. wilt), or mites based on pictures?

1. How frequently should I water? (heard both deep soaking and more frequent shallow watering methods recommended).

2. Should the soil be DRY when I water again?

Had mites diagnosed last year by plant doctor and lost all my plants. I am stumped...

3. If it's mites again, can I use an organice or homemade baking soda & oil spray- or must I use Permethin? (Bonide-Eight product) that they recommended last year. Worried about insectiside use while plant is fruiting.

Please help before my entire garden is infected and I lose my plants again this year. Thanks.
