Lots of discussions here on where to buy seeds that a search pulls up. I linked one of them below with several of the most common vendors listed in them. The Gardaen Bazaar here at GW also lists numerous ones and the Rate & Review Vendors forum here tells you who to avoid and who gets the highest ratings.

Many will let you request next year's mail order catalog online. A few don't mail out catalogs.

Bought seeds from Sand Hill Preservation and was pleasently surprised at how fresh, clean and vibrant the seeds looked. They were out of a variety I requested so I received not only a generous credit but seeds from another variety that's 3' tall in the garden !!!!! All varietys germinated strong!

Thanks! I checked few out already, they all seems like nice companies.

I have to stick my two cents in here.. I ordered from maybe half a dozen vendors, and my favorite was Southern Exposure - the seeds looked the best, gave me very good seed count per package, had inexpensive shipping and came very quickly. Best part - 100% germination, and I had four different varieties from them.

Some companies like Tomatofest have a miniumum order, so check that out before you spend a lot of time compiling an order list from a particular vendor.

Also, most people say that Sand Hill takes a long time to get you your seeds - not because they aren't great, but because it is a small family operation - you can't order by internet and they seemed to take at least 3 weeks or more, by people's accounts. So if you use them, make sure to order early. But it could be worth it - they have some varieties that no one else has, I think - I ordered my Red Star from them because only they and one other vendor had them.

Cleo, please read what I wrote about seed quality in the thread you started this AM about germination rates of tomato seed.

I mention this b'c there are many variables that go into where different places get their seed from, etc., which I mentioned in my response to you in that thread which can affect seed quality.

Last year I sowed Burpee Super Beefsteak seeds ($1.00 a pouch) I got at Wallyworld and had GREAT success. Every seed in a egg carton I planted them in germinated and I had an excellent harvest.
