Need info on sethoxydim & bloodgrass
I've got a bunch of Japanese Imperial bloodgrass, Imperata cylindrica. Surrounding the house, I'm rehabbing the lawn - kill it all and re-seed, section by section.
But down the slope in the wet meadow, I'd like to keep much of what's growing (lots of native wildflowers, sedges, rushes), not mow, and just kill the grass. It's way too big an area to hand-weed or spot-treat for the bloodgrass, it's wildflowers intermingled with the dang bloodgrass, and I'd rather not kill the whole shebang and start over.
If there's another type of grass down there, I haven't seen it. So it's okay with me if I kill _all_ the grass. I realize that sounds extreme, but it's less extreme than killing everything. It's a sea of blue and purple right now, blue-eyed grass and self-heal and skullcap. And the red stripes of Imperata cylindrica (grrr).
Will sethoxydim (Vantage) effectively kill the bloodgrass and not harm the flowers and sedges?
Thanks.
