yea i hear ya livingfossil. i live in cincinnati and the power was out for 3 days. every bradford pear within 100 miles of cincinnati was blow away. i saw 5 down just on my street. i hate those awful trees. they are about as useful as an invasive ornamental bomb. all they do is pop up like weeds, smell bad, and fall on peoples cars, houses etc. every time a wind over 20 mph blows. anyway the reason we have so many little branches down in the cincinnati area is because the 17 cicadas came out this year and made the little branches weak by laying their eggs in them then when winds blow, snap they come right off. look at those branches and you will see the slits the cicadas made in them.

Hi, The 'Sunflower'Paw Paw cultivar is informally reported to be self-fruitful/self-compatable. Has anyone grown just one 'Sunflower' Paw Paw specimen and yet received fruit? In a previous post response, someone said he did and yet another said that they didn't receive fruit until planting a second, unrelated Paw Paw - which could just be coincidental: i.e. that it was just going to be the first year, in general, that it would be mature enough to fruit. Also, if it is true that the above mentioned individual actually received fruit on his Sunflower Paw Paw without polination from any other possible source other then itself, does that necessarily mean that ALL Sunflower Paw Paws, which I guess are all identical? clones, are likewise self-fertile; or could some not be for some reason? Mia, If I have short-day onions that mature in late May or early June, I put in southern peas or more okra if I'm thinking I didn't plant enough okra. If I have intermediate-day onions that mature a few weeks later, I might put in southern peas, or I might hold that area for fall tomatoes, or I might plant more summer squash if the squash bugs and SVBs are attacking the previously-planted squash plants. A lot depends on the weather. Some years (and I did plant this way this year in one bed), I plant my onions but leave an opening every 3' for a tomato plant. Later on, at tomato transplanting time, I come back and plug tomato transplants into those holes. Then, over a period of a couple of months, I harvest the onions closest to the tomato plants as green onions. (The ones I am growing to full size are in their own dedicated bed.) By the time the onions start bulbing up, I've already harvested the ones closest to the tomato plants, and the ones that are left are nice and big. By the time I pull up those onions, the tomato plants are expanding to take over that space. Just picture the onions as a groundcover underneath and between the tomato plants. This year I did it with tomato varieties that I expect will set fruit late in the summer: Phoenix, Merced and Mortgage Lifter, and I planted those plants late (just last week) to give the onions a good long time to grow before they have to compete with the tomato plants. There's millions of ways to squeeze more plants into less space, and combining onions with something that will take over the space after the onions are harvested is one way to do that. I also interplant my Irish potatoes and bush beans in alternating rows. The beans grow more quickly and are being harvested by the time the potatoes are starting to crowd them. Then, after about 3 weeks of harvesting beans, I yank out the bean plants and toss them on the compost pile and the potatoes fill up the space the bean plants had occupied. Dorothy, I figured you'd had ripe tomatoes in February. I probably will try some in at least a part of the greenhouse in late fall/early winter too, but I don't want to heat too large of an area, so I'll need to section off the tomato-growing area. The coldest my greenhouse got this winter was 23 degrees. That's not bad. I didn't have anything in it that night because I had moved the plants to the garage for the night. Dawn

just keep in mind that android tablets let you install the kindle app and the nook app so you can have all of those on one device. It really depends on your needs and wants as to what you get. the tablet with the best sound that I have owned was the vizio it had 3 speakers so no matter which direction you held it in you had stereo and the sound was fantastic. Wish more manufacturers would be more interested in the sound quality and take a lesson and put at least 3 or 4 speakers on them. I often struggle hearing with the one small speaker especially on my phone. I love love love my new Asus transformer tf300 10" tablet with dock but it too could use some improvement in the sound and speaker department. My husband still absolutely loves his lookbook in fact he now has his and mine and I am trying to make him transition over to my Vizio tablet so he has more options and can do other things on it. He is fighting me he wants to stick with his lookbook he is not a fan of the touch screen he keeps touching things by accident then I hear swearing lol. He is not a good student is all I have to say LOL That lookbook is extremely light weight you will not likely find any tablet that is that light.
