Plant Them Deep! (pics)

This year is the first time I planted the seedlings deeper than usual.(3-7 inches above the true leaves)

I'm already noticing the difference.

#1. The plant is sturdier as it's growing (no stake needed for a 3 month old plant!) because more roots grew from stem underground.

#2. The stem is thicker!

#3. The tomatoes start growing lower on the plant rather then up 3-4 feet above the earth. And plus there's not alot of wasted space from dirt to first tomato. :)

#4. Just seems like they're so much healthier.

So far so good! Pics to come. Stay tuned.
