NEW: Seed To Seed Gardens 1st Annual Veggie-Swap

I would like to know if anyone would be interested in a vegetable seed swap.

It would be limited to a maximum of 30 verities per swap.

Seeds will be accepted till late October to give everyone a chance to prepare their seeds.

Commercial seeds are welcome.

You can send a wish list with your seeds and I will do my best to send you as many as possible.

A fun candy to have ingredients on hand & pull out when you have a group of people hanging out together. When my kids were younger their friends loved to make this & take some home to their family. Of course, eating mistakes is part of the fun! Christmas Pretzel Reindeer Recipe *fun for kids of all ages to make & eat! You will need: Pretzels (2 inch size work better than the ones that are dollar coin size.) Melted White Chocolate/vanilla almond bark (your glue) M and Ms Whole Almonds To make a reindeer: 1. Melt some white chocolate according to directions on the package 2. Lay the pretzel on a sheet of parchment paper 3. Fill the three pretzel holes with white chocolate using a teaspoon. 4. Place matching M and Ms in the two smaller holes for eyes setting on white chocolate. 5. Place a red M and M just below the eyes, in the larger space, for the nose. 6. Put almonds for ears above the eyes and a little to the outside 7. Break pretzels to form antlers and set then between the ears. Let it set up & store in an airtight container. I alphabetized your tomato's list and fixed some spelling. I can do your whole list if you like but you can add in your numbers..it makes looking for and trading easier :)

You have some varieties I never heard of like Apielson. I'd love to hear more on your garden and see pictures.

First Fruits Harvest Garden 4644 M-33 Hwy. Onaway, MI 49765

While there are many needs in other countries and hungry everywhere, the goals of First Fruits are to:

*Feed the local community with organically grown, open pollinated, local vegetables. To be distributed through the FOOD Pantry currently established on site.

*Provide a place for those who wish to grow their own produce and provide seed, etc.

*Open pollinated seeds will be saved and used/given away. No hybrids will be used. This establishes a fresh Seed Bank as well.

Current and future goals are: raised-bed gardens, grains, water supply, storage and greenhouse. We are asking for a tax deductible donation to start "seed" money for such a project.

Should such a project fail, monies would be donated to the local food pantry and people would still be fed.

Projected Budget-
$500 establishes the garden plot including seed.
$3600 establishes a greenhouse and storage area.
Overall projected budget of operation to start is $4100. After the initial investment maintenance follows and the budget reduces.

Sorry that I have been out of touch. My mother passed away on 9/24/07 and things have been hectic since then.
The seed swap is still on, just send your seeds,return postage, and your wish list by 10/30/07
