Hi Charlotte,

Still not positive if I'll be there or not, since I'm going to the SA swap this weekend, but I'd like to.

Did you get one of my cat's whiskers ? Mine didn't come back this year, so I'm trying to find another one from someone I gave one to.

Hey Patty,
I did get some cat whiskers from you but they aren't back either. I'm hoping after this rain maybe some will appear. I will certainly share with you if some come up.
You know swaps are habit forming, after you go to the one this weekend you will need to come to another one by April 21!

Well I was wondering where the follow up comments for the Buda swap were! So glad I revisited this thread. I really enjoyed meeting you all and putting a face to some of the forum participants, learning about new plants and being on the receiving end of warm and generous swappers. I spent much of the afternoon after the swap finding a new home in my garden for all the plants although I will admit that I forgot what some are! And then I went online to google information about some of them and their care. Thank you so much Charlotte and swappers for making my first swap experience such a pleasant one and I hope to be much better prepared and knowledgable when I come to the next one. While I got to talk a bit with some of you, I feel there are many more who I'd like to get to know. Patty has been sharing some swap etiquette information with me and I hope you all will provide me a bit of slack if I overstepped, as I'm still a bit fuzzy about rules/etiquette and expectations. And I invite you to contact me if you have any advice or comments about our interaction as that will be a big help and an opportunity to get to know you. As always, it's great to see everyone and meet new people. Thanks to Margie for having us. Thanks to everyone who donated toward the door prizes which were received with glee ! And last but not least, thank you Charlotte for doing what you do. Thanks also to Curt !! A sweetie of the best kind ! I don't always have negative things to say, and when I do, I don't always verbalize them. However, I want to mention something that really bothered me. When I got home, I noticed that some plants were gone, which I didn't remember anyone asking for. Meaning: people took plants off the table without asking for them. Now, most of you know me and you know that I will give you anything I have. All I've ever wanted was to be asked first. I even have a sign on my table saying to find me if you're interested in something. I might be on the other side of the room telling someone I have a _______ plant for them, and then get to my table and find it gone. Or, as in the case yesterday, I brought a pot of rain lily bulbs. They weren't potted. They were loose, so that people could take a few bulbs and leave some for others. Someone must have taken the whole container. Which would have been fine, if no one else had wanted any, but I also wanted to keep the pot I had them in. I'm short on pots right now and wanted to hold onto whatever I could. But the person did not ask. If they had, I could have told them I wanted to keep the pot. This is a plant SWAP.... not a plant TAKE. I do not always need a plant in return. Often, I may already have what someone else is offering. There were some people I did not receive a plant from yesterday, and that's fine with me. But if you want something of mine, please, pretty please, all you have to do is ask. As a courtesy to everyone who attends these swaps, please take the time to find the person who owns the plants, and ask them if you can have the plant you crave, and offer something from your own table. After all, that's one reason we wear name tags. Patty

Sorry you missed the SA swap. I couldn't make it either.
That's the great thing about having another one a few weeks later. Anyone that missed the San Antonio swap can try to make the one in Buda and of course you can never attend too many swaps!
Looking forward to April 21.

I am hoping to come to the one in Buda also. I missed the last one due to flooding at our shop and having to spend the day cleaning up the mess.

It was very nice: great people and plenty of plants and snacks. I got 3 different types of cannas, a bunch of salvias, 2 different types of crinums, 2 kinds of daisies, a bag of mulch and some other goodies. Some other people got what I took there: a wood bench, plastic pots, seeds, a water hose, snail bait and a dropper. I had a good time as usual.
