For those of you in the Houston area come an learn about the prairie from local experts.

Native Plant Society of Texas  Houston presents

A Lecture Series on The Coastal Prairie of Texas

At its monthly chapter meetings throughout 2007, The Native Plant Society of Texas  Houston (NPSOT-H) presents a series of lectures on the Coastal Prairie of Texas.

Date: Third Thursdays of the month

Location: Houston Arboretum and Nature Center, 4501 Woodway Dr. in Memorial Park

Time: Information sharing begins at 7:00 pm, followed by the program at 7:30

All NSPOT-H events are free and open to the public.

Thursday, March 15, 'Historical Perspective on the Plants of the Gulf Coast Texas Prairie'. Dennis Jones, Assistant Superintendent Park Manager at Brazos Bend State Park will discuss how the prairie looked when the first settlers came through this area in the 1800's.
