Stems growing roots, mite problems, other problems?

I could use some help. I've been blasting my tomatoes with water daily to make it hard for mites to grow. Well, that has resulted in my tomatoes trying to root from all of their stems. :( What should I do? The mites are definitely there and mitex didn't do much last time. Should I fork over the $30 for ladybugs? Predatory mites? Anyone else have a chronic mite problem?

My mom lives a mile away and hasn't had mite issues for 30 years. I'm guessing my close planting and higher heat (plants are next to a white reflecting wall) are the culprits? Or maybe my soil (I have MUCH more organic matter in there than my mom). Maybe I need a soil test.

Also, my leaves are yellowing more than I would usually expect.
