Have spider mums,I have mine hanging from the rafters in my greenhouse,not sure which color as a dummy I took cuttings put in cups and forget to tag,so you could get green,yellow white and maroon.These have been rooted since April and are quite long and need to be pruned again,which you can stick right back in the container to make it fuller.

JD glad you reconsidered wisteria. That is a vine from hell. If it ever gets a hold on your yard it will be a constant battle to keep it under control. I put it right up there with kudzu. It is one of my favorites to see in the spring as long as it is on proberty 50 miles from me. Now if the Alabama Crimson is our native wild vine it is a terror too if not kept in a pot so it can be controled. I am just telling you how they grow in southeast Alabama. I have planted a cross vine. I don't think it is as aggressive as the other two mentioned. If I am wrong bring on the bushhog and Scrub Roundup.

I'm in 6b and my Crossvine usually keeps it's leaves over the winter but they look kind of sick. They kind of shrivel a little too so it isn't realy evergreen. Then in Spring it regrows new nice looking leaves so if you need good cover all year it probably isn't the vine to choose. On the other hand when it blooms in the Spring it is spectacular and attracts hummingbirds!

I have a friend in Georgia that I exchange plants with on occasion. We have found that what is wild and aggressive for me is not necessarily the same for her, and vice-versa. Perhaps it is the same with the cross vines. I agree about the trumpet vine. My MIL said she had tried to kill it every way she could think of, nothing worked. "Oh, let me dig it up and take it home with me." I said. "I think it's soo pretty." I said. lol It tore up chain link fence and the greenhouse and was working on DH's tool shed when DH finally got it drunk and killed it..... Janie
