how green should tomato seedlings be?

How green should tomato seedlings be? I'm trying to figure out if mine are healthy, or if I'm doing something wrong. They seem to be a yellower green than when they started out. They've probably been overwatered, underwatered, and exposed to too much bad weather. Sometimes they seem pretty happy, but I'm worried they're getting a little too yellow. Maybe they're doing ok, and I'm just worrying for nothing. I'd post a picture, but I don't have my camera working. And I'm not sure the color would be accurate enough anyway. Should they always be the same green color as when they first sprouted? Or is a little fading normal? Some have their first and second leaves, but most don't yet.
