planting tomatoes in hole with groundwater

Virginia

I dug a hole 2 feet deep in a place where a tree had been removed and the stump ground. The idea was to fill this hole with garden soil and compost and plant tomatoes. There is about 4 inches of ground water in the bottom of the hole. Is this OK?
