I wish there was a Nebraska forum like for the other midwestern states. I'm in Tekamah and have a few shade perennials. Are there any particular types of shade plants you're looking for? I have some astilbe, coral bells (3 kinds), spiderwort, virginia bluebells, beacon silver, jacob's ladder, bleeding heart, lilly of the valley, soapwort, and quite a few others.

Guessing by looking through images online...I don't KNOW that these are correct names but just putting out something to give a visual of what they look like.. Sedum makinoi 'Limelight' Sedum Stonecrop (still no name. Flowers very pale pink and kind of look a little lavender late summer to fall and the flowers do not get darker, if anything they fade a little so it isn't autumn joy...) Dianthus chinensis 'Floral Lace Picotee' Dichondra 'Silver Falls' Euonymus japonica, Golden Euonymus Buddleia davidii 'Butterfly Heaven' Too, I wanted to add, I have a nut grass, mint, and ant infestation. I also managed to transfer some other aggressive weeds I have never seen into the yard last year. It is so bad that I can't even transfer things from one place to another in my own yard without making it worse. It is so frustrating I feel like setting it all on fire and starting over LOL. All of the things I have to bring, however, are from cuttings that I took and cultivated in the greenhouse in new potting soil and sand. I don't use chemicals in the yard but I will blast them with liquid sevin in the greenhouse without remorse or regret so all of those things should be bug and weed free...

I'm looking forward to it! I have plenty of red bee balm (gets invasive - be forewarned!), some comfrey (same deal), and blackstem peppermint (umm... invasive seems to be a theme here!) I'll also have a few wintersown herb seedlings like mullein, horehound, and hyssop. Didn't get around to WS'ing many annuals - doh! Still waiting for some of the WS perennials to sprout, and assessing some of the weird winter-kill I've had in my herb garden (who knew catnip and lemon balm could die out over a strange winter???) I'm not looking for much in particular. I love herbs and berries and perennials, and would actually like to grow Russian comfrey and walking onions if anyone has some... and maybe lemon balm to replace mine that died. Hope all this rain stops by June! Nightingale :o)

Such a fun swap. Thank you Gail and Gretchen for organizing this, and thank you to everyone for your generosity. Besides the awesome plants I brought home, I also love the handmade gardening apron, the handmade scarf and other non plant gifts. Dan and I even brought home an original drawing by Grace.
