SVP I am more angry than I am scared. I am angry that corn growers in the midwest must grow GM corn, wheat, and soy, and that Americans consume those products without their being labeled as such, thousands of food products. I am angry that those GM crops easily cross-pollinate with other varieties of the same crops and essentially destroy their unique characteristics. I am angry that Monsanto can sue others whose crops have been inadvertently polluted through wind-pollination and the grower whose crops were ruined was the one who was found guilty of violating agricultural law. Monsanto is not on my list of "good companies". But I think dan_staley is right -- seed vendors don't sell GM seeds to home gardeners, so what you grow so far is clear of Monsanto's taint. My concern is focused on agribusiness, which is more than just Monsanto, and the world's food supply that they want to have a heavy hand in.

Red pepper dip.... Roasted red peppers in the blender with sour cream anda few drops of lemon.... Just put sour cream in the blender and add canned roasted red peppers until it's bright red...taste it and add salt of garlic of needed. And guacamole doesn't have to be spicy....just mashed avocado and a few drops of lime juice. If you don't like spicy, skip the tobasco. But you could use pesto....however I think a mild guacamole would stand up to wine tasting a lot better than a garlic-ey pesto. Also there is a sundried tomato pesto available in the grocery store that's pretty darned good....and very red! As for the white dip.... 1 cup of sour cream add 1/4 tsp garlic powder and 1 tsp horseradish. For this I would use the cream style horseradish. It would be cute to arrange it wreath style...and make groupings of cherry tomatoes as holly berries. Also don't forget belgan endive, makes a great dipper! You also could do a filled veggie tray...filled cherry tomatoes, filled mushrooms, filled sugar snap peas, filled cekery sticks and fat pepper slices filled with a cheese cream cheese mix. You can try The Academy For Dog Training at the San Francisco SPCA Also Tekla's K9 Academy in Ellicott City Maryland. You might want to talk with your boyfriend too. See if he won't wait a few minutes (months) before bringing new puppy home. The puppy will need/deserves A TON of training. See Ian Dunbar's book Before and After You Get Your Puppy on Amazon. Lastly, you and your boyfriend should know about pit-friendly resources like badrap.org I strongly strongly suggest you both do more reading and slow things down before you introduce another dog to your household. When things go awry with pits, the dogs usually pay with their sweet lives. It's a huge responsibility. Since you have the option, you can take the time to plan and do right by both of your dogs.
