How far apart should tomato cages be?

I just got 6, 24" diameter 6 foot high cages for indeterminate tomatoe plants and 5, 18" diameter 4 foot high tapered cages for indeterminate tomatoes. I am using a raised bed garden. 4X16 feet East to West orientation.

Do I put them side by side touching? Or do I have to let there be space between the cages?

What do you do with your cages?

Do you keep all the branches inside?

Do you let them poke out all over?

This is my first time using cages.
