Since it is supposed to be a 55-60day tomato, I MIGHT get some fruit. Wouldn't put money on it though. Am hoping the new branches/leaves will provide enough energy to keep it going and produce more leaves . . .otherwise the whole circle will just collapse on itself . . . If I remember, I'll post another pic of this poor thing in a couple weeks.

Tomato plants are amazingly resilient. I had a Sungold plant that I thought was a goner for sure. I had planted it too early, and it got hit by some cold weather, and lots of rain, and was subjected to many "markings" by my dogs. When I pulled it up, it was a brownish yellow stick. I tossed it in a bucket and forgot about it until a few weeks ago, when I noticed it had rebounded. I planted it in a tub and now it's got fruit on it!

Mitanoff, if that doesn't make it as a tomato, you might be able to make it into a wreath. :-)

Mr. Potatohead, yours looks like it needs some warm weather to be happy.

I'm glad to see you having this problem, too - my glaciers are just puny compared to everything else. I've never grown them before, but the description sez "sets fruit at 4 inches" so I'm hopeful.

(Sorry to hijack the thread - yes, that is a sad looking tomato. :) )

I posted these in another thread, but 3" hail destroyed 7 plants (one of them was Stupice, too -- hmm, bad luck variety?) They're not quite as bad as yours, but they've actually come back. Fruit is another question.

mr potatohead- as brilliant as your 14:08 posting was, i think mitanoff's original posting wins the day- for sheer lack of plant- your 14:08 may have been as yellow as an iraqi grandfather's teeth, but it least it had some leaves. mitanoff's offering was a mere toothpick of a plant

I normally don't use fertilizer, but I've revived some terribly pathetic-looking Great Whites with an extra-large dose of Miracle Gro water-soluble all-purpose plant food soaked into some fresh soil and a fresh pot.

Bunnies got 4 of my maters about 2 weeks ago, then near freezing temps and all I could see was the hint of 1 leave near ground level. After a couple days of really nice, hot weather and they are some of the nicest plants I have! Just call it natures pruning LOL. Kim

I'll try not to talk about the other tomato that snapped in two behind the stick. (sigh) The top half was hanging on by a thread so I just placed it back on top of the bottom and secured the whole thing with my soft velcro tape I use to trellis the branches. I can only hope that the top survives. AM not having much luck with my tomatoes this year.(another BIG sigh)
