Thanks for the follow-up comments. Needless to say, I'm THRILLED that this seems to have resolved my all-of-a-sudden surging issues! I've had this mower since 1999 and have absolutely loved it and was bummed when it began giving me trouble for the first time ever earlier in the summer. I never thought I'd get it repaired and back in good working order after taking it to one shop 3 times and they finally gave-up on what was causing it to not start. I think the shop just really doesn't work on 2-cycle mowers very much and their preference as far as incoming work is simply just 4-cycles. I was glad that the pilot jet seems to have resolved the surging, as I read on the Internet that this jet specifically deals with non-load-bearing running of the engine if the thing's basically running but you're not actively putting the engine under stress w/cutting grass. You're prob. right... I imagine the original jet was most likely just dirty or something. Who knows... I agree though that the larger-bore replacement jet should serve the mower well. I don't use this Lawn Boy as much as I used to 5 years ago when we had a much smaller yard... we live on just over 1 acre now since 2003 so I have a John Deere for the majority of the yard, but our front yard simply looks better being mowed with a smaller mower and the John Deere is just too big of a mower to traverse through a smaller front yard. Okay... it's pushing 1 a.m. and I'm rambling. I'm definitely going to check into putting a fuel-filter like the one you mentioned on the fuel line. Thanks again!

Thanks everyone.... sorry for responding so late here. I do remember catchfly being on a seed-package list now that you mention it! It's so pretty. I've checked my WS'ing list and I did do some 'Stocks ~ 10 week mix' and 'Stocks ~ Imperial Giant Mix'. Strange how the pictures on seed packages looked different though ($-store seeds = lousy pictures = good seeds though! LOL). LOL at the Mom's & Names! My kids all have jumbled up names "Anna-Michelle" "Kim-chelle" "Kimber-Anna" etc.... so now I just whistle and they all come running up (buys me some time.... LOL) Ofcourse, DH's name and DS's names are extremely similar and they usually both answer to one name! LOL Ang

The openness of the immediate vicinity around your release point is always an important consideration, as well as whether there are nearby natural areas. I assumed you got Ladybird larvae, they won't disappear on you too quickly, but the adults are too mobile to put a lot of reliance on. As Rhizo mentions, if the adults move in on their own they'll hang around. But if dropped out of a container they're more likely to try and put distance between themselves and their confinement. And more so if the temperatures in your conservatory are above the normal for the environment they come from. It's a bit of a novel idea but you can use a vacuum cleaner to remove Whitefly. As long as you can adjust the suction power it can be done without damaging the plants. Put the dust bag in a plastic bag in the freezer before emptying it out. Well, vacuum cleaners aren't exactly natural, but same effect though.

The link says it has a mild sting, but so mild that I've never experienced any sensation, and I've literally rubbed it into my skin in order to find out. This is what my botanist friend says. Urtica gracilis is a unique species native to North America. Urtica dioica is from Europe, but the 2 species look so much alike that gracilis was erroneously considered to be a variety of dioica. The bonap map adds to the confusion by listing dioica as being native in most parts of the U.S., and bonap doesn't include U. gracilis on their map. Gracilis grows much taller than dioica and has narrower leaves. I saw some over 10 feet yesterday.
