which variety of tomato to grow?

Just to let anybody who posts on this thread know, I don't plan to grow tomatoes now. The reason for this is because where I live, it's too late to plant anything; if I were to plant something now, eventually it would become too hot for what I'm growing to survive. As a result, whatever I grew would eventually die.

So any information acquired from this thread is for FUTURE

reference.

Basically I know there are two varieties of tomatoes; one is

indeterminate, which is your traditional vining type. The other is called determinate, and has a more compact growth habit; it's commonly called a bush type.

The variety I plan to grow is determinate. I would like input on what type of tomato to grow. I plan to use the tomatoes I grow to make tomato sauce, tomato paste, and

I plan to use them in cooking. I will not use them raw, as I don't care for tomatoes raw. I don't want a tiny variety, like cherry or grape. I also don't want a huge variety either. I would just like a tomato plant that is of the determinate variety that will produce medium-size fruit that is suitable to be used in cooking and to make tomato sauce and tomato paste.

Can somebody offer some good recommendations to me regarding this? I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you for all who offer advice, input, suggestions and recommendations.
