Your gardens are Beautiful,my favorite are the cottage gardens,i like the wild abandoment of those.Our snowball bush was covered with black aphids,we blasted them with water then mixed dawn with water and sprayed the bush.So far,so good. kathi

Thank you Seil - Aloha is one of my older roses. The bush is really spread out and loaded with blooms. My late husband surprised me with it about 11 years ago, the lady at the nursery recommended it and he knew I liked pink roses. Hopefully I'll get the posting pictures thing figured out soon.

Tammy, I saw that too on ebay. Crazy! I bought mine from Heirloom last year during the red, white & blue sale (I think). I think the people who bid so much on these roses are just newbies who don't realize they can get the same plant elsewhere for MUCH less money. Believe it or not though, I'm not in love with Black Baccara (ducks for cover). It starts off pretty, but the flower form ends up being sort of round and boring. It holds its color and lasts forever on the bush though. Since it's still a baby (ish) plant, I haven't been able to cut stems long enough to bring it inside. Hopefully that will help? It has no smell either, and that doesn't help. I don't have any other issues with it though, so it's not going anywhere. Could be one of those roses that I grow to love.

Good advice from many regarding watering. Excess water and too much fertilizer are common problems with growers who are trying hard to take good care of their plants. Tomatoes do better with some neglect. Also, do NOT bury 80% of any healthy looking transplant. I have no idea why that was suggested. Instead set it into the soil so the first set of healthy leaves is about an inch above the soil surface. Deep burying is used as a remedy for very leggy plants grown with poor lighting. I cannot imagine a Bush Celebrity getting very leggy unless it was grown under terrible conditions. You would not want to buy such a plant. If you replace yours, set it into the planting hole only a little deeper than it is growing in the pot. And don't baby it :)
