CONFIRMATION THREAD...

Here is the original instructions...

Mail Date: May 11th

Rules for the Swap:

Included in the swap could be items like submergable(Oxegenator) plants, floating plants, bog plants, tropicals or grasses to put around the pond or bog.

I will post a note over on the water gardening forum so they will know for those interested.

This is a a list-it/select it swap. Where you will list what you have to offer and let the others select from the list.

When you send your plants, include postage for a small flat rate box ($10.35) and a return mailing label in your package so it can be returned to you with the plants you have requested. Friendly Reminder: If the swap is a hugh success and you select a whole lot of stuff you may need two boxes - Just a note in case. If you do not want to do two boxes just don't select as much stuff from other peoples lists -But it is hard ;-)

**I know on the water forum they exange snails and other stuff like that- This is acceptable but please be sure to package them in the correct manner. Thanks.

NOTE Be sure to label each plant sent with the plant name and gwname of person it will be going to.

Hi Tammy, I would love to join your water gardening, seed, plant swap :) My pond is still FROZEN! I put the plant and waterlily pots down into the deep end of the pond (now at 16ft. deep), but it is still covered with ice and snow. I put in last year yellow, pink, red, and white waterlilies, some named and some not. I also should have some lotus growing down there too, but if not, I have lots of lotus seeds. I will have to look in my book and take inventory for some other water plants I might have? I do have the yellow flag Iris and some purple pond iris. Please let me know if I'am in? I had the same issues, and had a landscaper come over for just an hour to give me advice. That was the best hour as he helped me design my front yard, which I in turn did myself, but he told me to dig a trench around the boggy area and start adding alot of grass and other mulch to it to built it up out of the mud. All the back yard water drains into it. This year I planted my veggie garden there. It was the only sunny place outside of the front yard, so all we had were tomatoes, jalapenos and bell peppers. This spring we will finally dig our ditches larger and add river rock. And I have piled leaves, grass, hay, and pulled weeds to that area. Will have to continue next year.

There used to be two responses to this question, but I can't see them anymore. Anyway, I went with a broadleaf creeping phlox (phlox stolonifera "home fires") - regular creeping phlox needs it too dry. I think this woodland phlox would like it a bit more shady, but the very moist ground seems to please it well. It's blooming just now and fragrant! Hasn't really spread too far - may have to buy a few more and fill in gaps - wanted to see if it would live first! Thanks for the responses, wherever they may be!
