Growing Tomatoes

Help Identifying Leaf Disorder

A few of my plant's leaves have this on them...

I never had problems before with leaf diseases so this one is a first.... Perhaps some sort of leaf mold? If so, I'll start treatment this weekend.

I Know....where's the mulch? That's going on this weekend ....

I wanted the ground to really warm up beforehand.

Atascosa, it looks like cold air damage to me, but I posted the new URL of the problem solver below.

I dont know why people are so afraid to spray there trees. I have abused the crap out of my trees (not on purpose) just to watch them bounce back and grow beautifully. Try the copper on a SMALL AREA or JUST A COUPLE leaves first. No harm will come of it. If copper does not work, try something else. Organocide is organic and has helped my Citrus trees a ton. It might even be some kind of pest. Just dont overdo it and start with only a couple of leaves until you know how your tree will react. These trees have been around for thousands of years, a little copper isnt going to kill it. It might make the leaves drop if you spray too much so thats why you go small to begin with. Not everyone has the luxury or time to have such a good county extension office such as southern California.

Those are not the same as the original question. Yours look a bit like Sheep Sorrel but we do not know your graphical location so it is hard to say what they are. You are likely to get more responses if you start your own post. It would also be useful to see the plant in situ.

Hi PK. Just came here to let you and others who might view this thread know that I managed to find out about this flower using a plant identification app. Turns out it's a Merremia Tuberosa. It was a perfect match.

If Eriodictyon, per Jinx's comments, the snip from the Jepson key below should help. The leaves don't seem to be hairy enough on the top surface for E. crassifolium. The corollas seem to be too short and the flower buds not dark enough for E. californicum. See if E. trichocalyx fits your plants. If so, it looks like Eriodictyon trichocalyx var. trichocalyx is a decent option per the key. I agree with weather damage on a young plant. I took some plants out from the lights three weeks ago and put outside and hour too early, it was 45 degrees and warming. Had the same type of damage. The plants outgrew it in no time.

Thanks for the link Simmran,,and others for your observations..
Shortly after I put them into the ground ( 1 week) we did have a cold snap with overcast skies and periods of rain with temps hovering into the lower 40's at night and upper 40's during the day (typical TX winter) and moderate winds 10- 15 mph..
That all makes sense now...last year didn't have those weather conditions..
And thank God they will outgrow it..

Thank God they will grow out of it! I put 50 or so plants in the ground before I went out of town and the ALL look like that now. I noticed that the tomatoes at Home Depot and HEB (other Texans will know what that is) look the same.

I can sleep tonight...

Yep my two test tomatoes got it too. The Wall o' Water one only had two leaves. The one with the wrapped CRW cage had almost all the leaves like that. But they look fine and are growing so I'm seeing it as a learning experience.

Scared the bejesus out of me because first thought was...uh oh..somethings wrong..and then I thought..Dang..I should have put out the mulch, cause knowing how rain can splash the soil up on the leaves and cause havok with soil born diseases..
Now I can sigh with relief knowing that all of my seed raised maters will be okay because (and thanks brainray) these can't be found at the Home Depot or Lowe's Centers..
