First mature mango of 2010

Just ate the first mature mango of the year. The winner was.........Martinez...which I am now 99% sure is Rosigold. It was pretty good for such an early mango. Some of the fruits are cracking and spoiling...not sure why. Not the typical water logged cracking. This cracking may have something to do with the cold that this mango endured. The taste was sweet, but not overly so. The flesh is fiberless, but had a slightly different consistancy than what I remembered. I guess you would say the flesh was not melting, more firm, almost, but not objectionally firm jelly like. Here are some pictures, for you skeptics. The fruit was also slightly smaller than I remember...but that could be because it grew in a cluster of fruit.
